User-Generated Content & LMS
Community members can post original, user-generated content to the platform. Videos can be uploaded from desktop or mobile; videos can also be posted via links from YouTube or Vimeo. All other file types are supported and can be uploaded from desktop or mobile: Excel, Word, PDF, PowerPoint, JPEG, MP3 and more.
Community managers are able to distribute content, modules, or resource libraries of information in the form of videos or any other file type. They can organize this content in Channels or Workrooms as needed. They can roll it out over various time periods as needed.
ORGANIZATION & CURATION
Channels are at the top of the homepage and hand-selected by the Community Manager to ignite specific topics of collaboration and communication. Channels are accessible to all community members for full engagement or reserved for top-down, information dissemination.
Manager Curation enables Community Managers to feature content and highlight key members of the community throughout the platform.
Community Curation allows content with the most upvotes to rise to the top of the platform, where it is displayed in Best of Quarter (most upvotes in 90 days) & Hall of Fame (most upvotes over lifetime of platform).
Algorithm Curation allows the Empact platform to act like a social media platform. The Empact algorithm creates stickiness and drives engagement, generating recommended content and users to follow.
Best of Quarter displays content that has received the most upvotes over the past 90 days.
Hall of Fame displays content that has received the most upvotes over the lifetime of the platform.
Bookmarks allow users to flag important content for easy reference at a later date.
Workrooms can be created by users or Community Managers and are dedicated to specific topics. You can drag and drop content (videos and files) from around the platform and organize it in these virtual conference rooms, allowing members to collaborate in small groups and innovate with peers.
The Private Messaging feature allows users to chat privately, one-on-one, with other members on the platform. Here, you can share files that no one else has access to.
The Group Messaging feature extends the platform’s private messaging functionality, enabling members to start a private chat with multiple users at once. Here, you can share files that no one else has access to.
The Directory provides a full list of community members, sortable in multiple ways. The Directory can be searched by name, job title, employer, area of expertise, geographic location, or any other keywords. The directory algorithm suggestions new users to follow.
The Advanced Search feature allows you to search the entire platform for content and users via keywords, user name, or topic.
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT & GAMIFICATION
Empact applies the same emotional and psychological tactics behind the gamification used in all successful social media platforms.
Notifications are received when community members engage with your content.
Commenting capabilities are available on all posts.
@mention capabilities are supported in all comments to tag other users.
The Upvote feature allows you to show your support for other members’ content. Posts with the most upvotes are displayed in Best of Quarter and Hall of Fame.
News Feed showcases all recent activity and posts by community members you are following.
My Network displays community members you are connected to, organized into “Followers” and “Following.”
My Content gives easy access to all content you have uploaded to the platform, as well as how many upvotes, comments, and bookmarks each post received. The Empact algorithm then recommends content based on your activity.
The User Statistics section displays the member’s platform engagement data, including number of posts, Best of Quarter content, Hall of Fame content, and Featured content.
Customize your user profile with personal information: profile photo, cover photo, contact info, work history, language, location, social media links, and more.
Community manager can review and approve all content before being posted to the site.
Community manager can remove users from the platform who do not follow correct protocol or guidelines.
